HOC participates in multiple initiatives that advocate for the needs and interests of the bleeding disorders community. It is important that the members of the bleeding disorders community be involved in advocacy initiatives because nobody can capture the unique circumstances of a patient’s story better than the patient themselves. Initiatives include improving medical care, services, education, safety/surveillance of blood and blood products, and much more.
We join forces as a community to educate our state legislators about life with a bleeding disorder and issues that impact us right here in Wisconsin.
We meet face-to-face with lawmakers and staff who shape national healthcare policy.
